Clients praise Cuba Family Law for its empathetic, conciliatory approach to family court matters, with multiple reviewers highlighting Bridie Henderson and Deenie Roche as exceptional lawyers who provide clear, compassionate communication and expert advocacy. However, two negative reviews mention experiences of intimidation, pressure, and lack of sensitivity, one criticizing the firm's handling of a family harm matter and another singling out Patricia Chin for poor attitude and slow work. Overall, the firm is recognized for its professionalism and client-centered service, but concerns about sensitivity in domestic violence cases exist.

I used Cuba Family Law for a family court matter, and I can not recommend them enough. I came to them having had a very traumatic experience in family court with my previous lawyer and they could not have been kinder or kore generous in explaining my options and giving me the space and time to process and make decisions on a path forward. They are one of the new breed of law firms that is focused on making family court matters conciliatory rather than combative, which really helped me to stay grounded and keep the best interests of the children foremost in my mind. I have recommended them to several people so far and will continue to do so.
Bridie Henderson at Cuba Family Law provided fantastic legal services. She was a clear and empathetic communicator and had a great balance of detail and pragmatism in her advice. Would recommend this firm :)
I have had the most exceptional and upmost professional service and advice from Deenie Roche. I recommend Deenie as a family lawyer to any person looking for a steadfast, compassionate, empathetic and intelligent individual who is committed to providing your family the best possible solution within the justice system. I am astonished by the level of efficiency, professionalism and mastery from this firm. Thank you very much for all you have done for our whānau to date. You were an absolute star in court and our family is in a far better situation now because of your involvement. Thank you for going over and above the call of duty. You have much respect from us all. 💯/💯 Thank you Cuba Family Law for your incredible team. We couldn't have done this without you. All the best moving forward. Nga mihi nui.
I am not a client, but I have recently received correspondence from this firm in relation to a family harm matter. In my experience, the approach taken showed no understanding of the impact on victims of family violence. The communication I received relied on pressure, threats of costs, and disregard for the emotional harm caused. For anyone seeking genuine support and sensitivity in relation to family harm, I cannot recommend this firm. Survivors of violence deserve lawyers who act with care and respect, not intimidation.
In my opinion, Patricia Chin is haughty in her dealings with clients, she has the ill-founded confidence of a career dullard. Slow in her work the only thing Patricia produces quickly are torrential excuses in an attempt to deflect from her many, many inadequacies. She claims to be very experienced, however this experience appears to be limited to doing things incorrectly so counts for little. Patricia, unfortunately, labours under a self-made delusion of adequacy so much so that it would be faster and less effort to learn how to do the work you require of her yourself than to have to deal with her.
